I’m low-maintenance when it comes to shaving the face these days; I largely let it grow and only shave my face clean once every few weeks, trimming and ‘cleaning up’ the rest of the time (I don’t grow a heavy beard, so I never really reach ‘mountain man’ status). My ideal shaver is one that lets me clean my neck and cheeks up, trim up my sideburns and eyebrows, etc.

This is the third electric shaver I’ve owned, and I’m very impressed with its overall performance and versatility. I’ve noticed other reviewers mention that the foiled shaver itself isn’t quite as effective as they’d like, and I have to second this. In my experience, the key has always been to hit stubble before it gets very long, else the foil has a bit of trouble with the longer stubble. If I let mine grow for more than about three days, this has trouble with it. I don’t think that’s a weakness of the Cruzer6 so much as it is a weakness of the foiled-electric-shaver design generally; just know that you won’t be able to let yourself go for a week, then get clean-shaven, using only this device (or ANY electric shaver)- at least, I wasn’t. One notable design feature is that the shaving surface is extra-wide; very nice.

However, the design and versatility of the Cruzer6 really go a long way to make up for this. There are two different sizes of trimmer built in to the razor itself, and that alone makes this a very attractive choice for a razor to take with you on the road, or to be able to use without having to fetch a bunch of other accessories, etc. The trimmers work beautifully, and their sizes and designs are perfect- just those two trimmers do pretty much everything I need, and I could almost see paying a fair sum for a device that did only what the two trimmers do. Having them built into my razor is a big bonus.

Speaking of taking it on the road, the battery life is awesome. I’ve had mine for a few months already, and have only had to charge it up one time. One time! That’s using it weekly, too! Very impressive.
Equally impressive is the fact that it has full waterproof functionality, which means one can use it in the shower, sink-rinse it, etc., which makes it hugely functional. In my opinion. Finally, it comes with a couple of trimming guards, so beard-guys are covered, too.

In summary, while the shaver itself could be a little more effective, I suspect this is partly a function of the limits of electric razors in general. Overall, though, this is a versatile and convenient product with several design features that will appeal to guys who want a low-maintenance solution to shaving and grooming.
